This celebration of the art of poetry has grown phenomenally in the past few years with the support of American's poets, government leaders, corporate sponsors, teachers and students, and lovers of poetry everywhere. Formal and informal events honoring poetry are held each April in cities and towns of all sizes across America. We invite you to join us in whatever way you can to bring the timeless beauty and power of poetry to your students; we invite you to do this in the belief that there is, in truth, a poet in every human heart.
