Welcome back from what I hope was an enjoyable and relaxing Holiday Break. The students were issued their report cards for first semester on Friday, Jan. 11th. If your student did not bring one home, please call the school and we will issue them another one. If your student has failed a core class they will be required to attend summer school to make up this credit. Please call our counselor for more information on summer school.
We have over 200 students that have met our academic challenge for the first semester by earning a 3.00 or higher. These students will be eligible to attend a movie during the school day as their reward. They will attend this movie sometime in January, details will be sent home at a later date. I would like to congratulate Ally Evans for having her essay chosen among thousands of entries to be published in Creative Communication’s “Celebrating What Is Important to Me.”
CLPJHS has earned the prestigious Energy Star Label for 2007. This award is given to schools that are at least 30% more energy efficient than other schools. CLPJHS was one of 169 schools in the nation that was presented with this award. I would like to congratulate Ms. Barb Groves and her Energy Team for making this happen.
These are just two examples of some of the great things happening at CLPJHS. With the dedication and hard work from the students and staff, CLPJHS will continue to be one of the best schools in the district. We encourage you to get involved and help continue with the great traditions established at CLPJHS.
