Welcome!!!!
Welcome to Cache La Poudre Junior High School!! All of the CLPJH staff looks forward to working with you and your parents in the upcoming year. We invite you to become part of the history and tradition that is the positive school environment at Cache La Poudre JHS. As students at CLPJH, we expect your very best effort, your very best attitude, and your very best skills. We know that you are here to learn the content and skills necessary to continue not only as senior high students but also in the adult world.

Student Behavior Expectations
As a staff, we will model, teach and use Positive Interaction Skills based on the Discovery Model. We expect students to use these same skills when interacting with staff, parents, and other students at CLPJH. These skills are to:
-speak in a normal tone of voice
-listen attentively
-focus on the immediate problem
-use appropriate eye contact and body language

Minimum -classroom expectations for all students and all staff in all classes are:
-to be prompt(in class, ready to learn when the bell rings)
-to be prepared(have all necessary materials and know necessary due dates)
-to be polite(use positive interaction skills)
-to produce(turn all work in on time, do your best, never accept less than your best)
-to participate(positively engaged in learning that contributes to a safe classroom)
-problem solve(peacefully correct problems before they escalate)

As a school, we have in place a Level System to enable all staff to work with student behaviors and decisions. Our goal is to address concerns at the lowest possible level before issues or behaviors escalate or become serious. CLPJH believes that mediation and problem solving are the best way to resolve problems.

Level 1 behaviors/offenses are lower level and will be addressed and solved through staff working directly with students. Level 1 behaviors/offenses may turn into Level 2 offenses if the problem persists or if students choose not to work through the issue positively.

Level 2 behaviors/offenses are serious. These behaviors/offenses jeopardize student safety and an environment of mutual respect. In cases of Level 2 behaviors/offenses, parents will be contacted immediately and the student placed on in-school or out-of-school suspension. In the case of out-of-school suspension, a parent conference is required before the student is readmitted. If Level 2 behaviors/offenses continue, the student may be placed on the Habitually Disruptive ladder, which could result in the possibility of being recommended for expulsion.
