Athletics
Sports play a big
role in the lives of many CLP students. Some student
athletes participate in organized school sports while
others are involved at the club level. Still others
participate in individual sports.
School sports are divided into two different levels; Junior High Sports and High School Sports. Most seventh and eighth graders are eligible to play on CLP teams. Ninth graders are required to play at the high school level for Poudre High School.
Many students also participate in club sports. Some of these sports are organized at the school level and others are organized by the Department of Parks and Recreation.
The final category of sports is individual sports. This section includes sports like rodeo, gymnastics, and horse riding.
Sports have long been a source of tradition and pride and throughout the years CLP teams and individual athletes have excelled, winning a number of District, City and Individual Championships.
