VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools)
Can you believe it? The year is halfway gone already! We hope you and your kids are having a great one!
Please join us for two Dine-Out Nights this semester! 15% of your check from each of these events will be rebated to the Academic Challenge program. The first date is a NEW & LOCAL VENUE!! It will be at Vern’s in LaPorte on Thursday, February 7th, from 4 – 8 p.m. Vern’s menu is diverse and the food is always incredible! The second (and last for this year) is at the Fort Collins Johnny Carino’s restaurant on Tuesday, April 8th, from 4 – 10 p.m. Their menu, as you know, is also wonderful! Just mention CLPJH to your server so the school gets credit! Thanks for supporting these restaurants as they support us!
Did you know?...The Academic Challenge program is designed as a reward program to help kids get B’s or better or bring up their grades one point. Talk to your student today about their progress! (And if you support charitable organizations for tax deductions, please consider a cash donation to this program; it directly benefits our kids’ work and has made a real difference in their classroom efforts!)
Pizza & drinks after school: will be available for purchase on the following Fridays: 1/18, 2/22, 3/28, 4/25 & 5/23. Have your student bring $$ for a snack on these Fridays!
Want to be “in the know”? We occasionally send out school-related emails to keep parents “in the loop”. If you’d like to receive them, let us know! E-mail your address to Claudia* and watch for updates about “CLPJH”! A great way to keep caught up with between-newsletter events!
We’ve received Pirate Treasure Chest donations from 48 families totaling over $2,000. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! If you haven’t yet donated this year, please send in $40, $20, $10 or $5. With CSAP breakfasts in March, we need your help now!
School Directories will not be printed this year due to “under”whelming demand. The process will be re-evaluated for the 2008/9 school year. Let us know your thoughts!
Did you receive your Key Tab for the newly re-instated Albertson’s Community Partners Program? Keep it on your key ring and have the clerk scan it with any purchases you make. If you haven’t received yours, e-mail us and we’ll send one out to you! Your help makes a big difference!
Parents – Will your employer assist?
We are currently planning CSAP breakfasts for March. Will you ask your business to “sponsor a breakfast” for approximately $500 or maybe a grade for $150 or a class for just 40? Email or call Jacci**. To show our appreciation, your business will be recognized in the next school newsletter. Thanks for helping by checking with your employer!
Please contact us if you have any questions! Happy winter!
