Dance Information and Guidelines

Dances Calendar

October 26, 2007 - Halloween Dance - 7:00-9:00 PM
December 7, 2007 - Holiday Dance - 7:00-9:00 PM
February 15, 2007- Valentine Dance - 7:00-9:00 PM
May 9, 2008 - 9th Grade Formal - 8:00-10:00 PM

Dances are a privilege and offered to students to socialize and have fun in a safe environment.

All information stated here was created with the help of the Leadership Class.

Referrals:
Students receiving a Behavioral Referral from the start of the school year will not be able to attend.

Leadership Shack:
Will not be open during the dance but pop will be provided by parents in the small gym.

Photos:
Photos will be provided at the dance at the cost of $3.00 per photo (5X7) in the small gym.
Photos will be provided to the winners of the Costume Contest at the Halloween Dance at no cost.
Photos will be provided to the Royalty at no cost to remember the evening.

Events:
Costume Contest – October Dance
7th Grade Royalty – December Dance
8th Grade Royalty – February Dance
9th Grade Royalty – 9th Grade Formal

Royalty will be voted on by the designated class and votes will be counted in the front office.
Royalty will be announced @ 8PM during the dance.

Entrance:
With ID = $5
Without ID = $7 and there will be no exceptions.

Students who have lost their ID and need to purchase a new one ($3.00) should see MR. CADDOO.
All requests for a new ID should be made by 2:40pm/Friday the week prior to the dance.

Enter/Exit:
The doors will open for the dance @ 7PM.
The doors will be locked @ 7:15PM
No students will be allowed into the dance unless the front office has been notified of late arrival.
Students can not leave the dance early unless accompanied by their Parent/Guardian before 9PM.
Students leaving with another adult must have their Parent/Guardian call the office for notification.
Parents should be here at 9PM to pick up their student from the dance.
Students that are still at the school after 9:15PM will be asked to not attend the next dance.

Guest Passes:
Only one guest pass per student is allowed and guest must attend a Junior High School in PSD.
Guest Passes will be available one week before the dance in the front office.
Guest Passes will be due on Wednesday by 7:45am the week of the dance. (No Exceptions)
This due date will be followed as the office staff will need time to contact schools for approval.
It is the CLPJH Student’s responsibility to go over the information and guidelines with guests.
If guests become an issue at a dance, guest passes will be eliminated until further notice.

Music:
The Leadership Class will provide the DJ with a list of possible songs to be played.
The DJ has the right to eliminate any songs that might be offensive or non-appropriate for age level.

School Policies:
All School Polices are in affect at all dances.


School Resource Officer:
A Larimer County Sheriff Deputy will be on duty at all dances.

Chaperones:
Remember that dances would not happen if we didn’t have chaperones.
Please take a minute at the dance to thank them for their time.

School Absence:
Students absent the day of the dance are unable to attend.
In order for a student to attend the dance in the evening – student must be in school half of the day.

Clothing:
All shoes, jackets, hats, sunglasses will be put in lockers until the dance ends.
Hallways will be blocked off from 7:30-9PM.
Students will not be allowed to their locker unless an emergency.

Dress:
Pants are clean and in good repair
Spaghetti Straps are ok to be worn
No visible undergarments should be shown (Boys/Girls)
Backless Shirts should be no lower than the Natural Waist
Pants should be no lower than one hand width below the belly button
Top of the shirt (front) should be no lower than one hand width from the collarbone
Skirts should be no shorter than the middles knuckle of the middle finger with relaxed shoulders.

Students not following the dress of the dance will be asked to change or call home.

Dancing:
All dancing should be done with dignity and self-respect. This is your warning!!
This includes: MOSHING, SLAM, BODY/CROWD SURFING and BUMP/GRIND
Any chaperone seeing any of the above will ask you to call home and will be removed from the dance.
If you are removed from the dance – you will not be allowed to attend the next scheduled dance.

Additional Items:
Glow Sticks are not allowed at any dance.
Students with glow sticks will be asked to dispose of them.

Dances are for dancing and not running around the gym.
Chaperones should not have to address this issue.
