First Graders’ Fun Filled Year
Students will become fluent readers who LOVE to read. Students will have the opportunity to read with dogs with Paws for Tales.

Students will write and publish many stories.

First Graders will participate in Meaningful, Significant, Engaging, and Challenging Units of Inquiry

1. Energy and Transportation
Students participate in exciting motion experiments throughout the 6 week unit
2. Amazing Picture Books
Students making connections with authors and illustrators, and visit the public library
3. Celebrations
Students experience and make connections to cultural and personal celebrations from around the world.
4. Inspirational People
Students will walk through history by learning about influential people around the world. Students will also realize how they can make a difference in the world.
4. Plants
Students will explore plants through hands-on experiments and gardening.
