Dear Sixth Grade Student,
Welcome to year 1 of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program. This is a significant time because you are on your way to being seventh graders. It's also an exciting year that's filled with great projects and opportunities for growth. During the year we will learn about Canada, Latin America, and Ecology, to name just a few. You will also have the exciting privilege of taking part in the highly acclaimed ECO-WEEK. All of these will be taught through the MYP and Areas of Interaction lens. Since this is your last year at Dunn, we look to you to be the role models for the younger grades. It's your opportunity to demonstrate the IB attitudes and set the tone for the entire school. This is a great time in your life and Mrs. Hammann and Mr. Swann are here to inspire you to be the best IB student you can be.
Other opportunities you will have as a MYP 6th grader are Student Council, Principal's Assistants, Safety Patrol, Spelling Bee, the Inquiry Fair, B.E.A.T. (Basics, Enrichment and Technology), Honor Choir, Japanese, and Positive Picassos. You are in for a challenging and fun year! We welcome you!
