3RD ANNUAL SIMPLE PLEASURES TIMELESS TREASURES

Dear Community Members,
Dunn TB World School will hold the 3rd  annual Simple Pleasures Timeless Treasures fundraiser at the Fort Collins Lincoln Center on Friday April 4, 2008 at 7:00 in the evening. This adult only event will consist of a wine and cheese tasting and a silent auction to raise money for our school.

The Dunn PTO has elected to use the funds earned from this upcoming event to improve our school-wide literacy program. Dunn’s literacy program serves both primary and intermediate grade levels and benefits students of all reading levels because it reduces class sizes for reading instruction. Within the past two years Dunn has lost all federal and state grant money that provided support to its literacy program. As a result, nearly an available funding is going into staffing, and has not been available for books. Many of the books we currently have are old. worn and/or dated. In addition to providing funds for our literacy, we are hoping to purchase updated leveled books for each grade and some needed materials for our “specials” classes, such us music, Spanish and P.E.

The proceeds from Simple Pleasures Timeless Treasures 2007 totaled over $14,000. This money was dispersed amongst the grade levels to update inquiry and research materials for the classrooms. We were also able to give our media center a portion of the proceeds to continue to update non-fiction resource books. This year the Dunn PTO has a goal of raising $20,000 in proceeds. The silent auction will consist of a vast array of items to bid on ranging from jewelry to art to travel and more! As before, the wine tasting will be outstanding and there will be a delicious assortment of cheeses. We had well over 300 people in attendance last year and it was an incredible evening.

We are respectfully requesting a donation for our silent auction. The donation can be in the form of a gift certificate, service, tangible good, piece of art, entertainment or sporting event tickets, even travel or tourism! In order to determine the appropriate amount at which to begin the bidding, we do ask that you include the value with your donation. For your convenience, we have included a tear-slip at the bottom of the PDF attachment, which may be filled out and included with your donation. When we display the item that you
donate for our auction, we will also include any advertising (i.e. brochures and/or business cards) that you wish. In addition, we will print your name or the name of your business in our event program.
