The Cinderella Prom Gown Sale
Was Saturday, March 29, at FCHS

FCHS Girls: 9:00am-Noon
PSD High School Girls: Noon-3:00pm
PSD Junior High School Girls: 3:00pm-4:00pm (No signup needed)

Sign up begins Mon. March 24!!

The Cinderella Prom Gown Sale will be held at Fort Collins High this spring, helping high school girls throughout the district to find affordable gowns for their special night of prom. Throughout the year, donations of “slightly used” gowns from community closets join others received as clearance inventory from area stores, to create a collection of nearly 300 gowns for shoppers. Each gown is inspected, tagged, and repaired, if needed, by students in the FCHS Fashion Design classes in preparation for the sale. Donations are never rejected, because each piece finds a new life…either on the sale rack, or as a recycling project for a fashion design student.

The sale day is Saturday, March 29 from 9:00am-12:00 noon for girls attending Fort Collins High. Girls attending other PSD high schools will be shopping that day from 12:30pm-3:00pm. Each girl must sign up for a selection/fitting time at her own school. Lists will be posted outside of the Family & Consumer Sciences classrooms after spring break week, beginning March 24 th. A sign up time assures each smart consumer a time to find a bargain dress priced between $5 and $25! Additional racks of “Retro\Just for Fun” gowns are available for $5 each, for the shopper who wants to create her own look

As you do your closet cleaning this spring and discover prom dresses stored away and needing a new owner, please bring them to the FCHS main office. You will be given a donation form for your tax purposes, and can be assured that you have contributed to new lessons in recycling and consumerism for our high school students.

Please encourage your daughters or other PSD teen girls, to stop by their school’s Family & Consumer Studies classrooms to sign up for a fitting time, and become part of this fun girl day at FCHS!

This project is sponsored by the FCHS Family & Consumer Sciences Department. If you have questions or want more information, contact Peggy Kohrmann at 488-8122 or pkohr@psdschools.org.
