2007 FRONT RANGE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

 

NEWS May 21AWARDS FOR 2008 SEASON HANDED OUT
The Boys Swim Team Banquet was held at the Ptarmigan Country Club. Award winners were:
     Most Outstanding Senior -        Tyler Bush
     Most Outstanding Junior -         Matt Anderson
     Most Outstanding Sophomore - Shane Price
     Most Outstanding Freshman -   Scott Erickson
     Team Spirit Award -                  Patrick O'Boyle

May 19/07 - BUSH WINS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!
Senior Tyler Bush defended his state championships by winning the 500 Free at the 5A State Championships. Bush also took 3rd in the 200 Freestyle. Other Finalists were: Matt Anderson      (8th - 100 Fly) & Joe Thelen (8th - 500 Free).  The 200 Medley Relay team of Shane Price, Joe Thelen, Matt Anderson & Jake Neufeld  finished 8th while the 200 Freestyle Relay team of Patrick O'Boyle, Zach Szlendak, Zach Turner & Tyler Bush finished 5th.  Consolation Finalists were: Price (9th - 200 IM, 12th - 100 Back), Thelen (14th - 200 IM), & the 400 Free Relay team of O'Boyle,  Turner, Thelen & Bush, who were 10th. The Lambkins scored 139 points good for 7th place.  

May 10 - BACK TO BACK CONFERENCE TITLES FOR FORT COLLINS
The Lambkins captured their 2nd Front Range League Championship in as many years, racking up 539 points, 180 more than runner-up Loveland. Tyler Bush set two individual meet records (200 Free & 500 Free) and was named Conference Swimmer of the Year. Joe Thelen was the other individual event winner, taking the 200 I.M. The team of Bush, Thelen, Zach Turner & Patrick O'Boyle set a meet record in the 400 Freestyle Relay. Other top 3 finishes were: Thelen (3rd-100 Free), Shane Price (3rd-200 IM, 3rd-100 Back), Matt Anderson (2nd-100 Fly), Alex Fenn (2nd-100 Breast) & Ryan Fox (3rd-100 Breast). New State Qualifying times were achieved by: Alex Fenn, Ryan Fox, Brett Franklin, Jake Neufeld, Patrick O'Boyle, Taylor Ray & Zach Szlendak, bringing the team total to 13 individual qualifiers.

April 30 - UNDEFEATED SEASON ENDS
Fort Collins wrapped up the dual meet portion of its season by travelling to Denver to take on Arapahoe and Lewis/Palmer. The Lambkins suffered their first loss of the season at the tri-meet; final team scores were: Lewis/Palmer -231, Arapahoe - 216, Fort Collins - 206. Individual event winners were:
Patrick O'Boyle (50 Free) & Tyler Bush (200 Free & 500 Free), Relay wins came in the 200 Free Relay (Joe Thelen, Zach Turner, Zach Szlendak, Tyler Bush) & the 400 Free Relay (O'Boyle, Turner, Thelen, Bush).

April 26 - FORT COLLINS TAKES 2nd AT MOUNTAIN VIEW INVITATIONAL
With only 18 swimmers, a depleted Lambkin squad took part in the 16 team Mountain View Invitational. The 48 member team from Arapahoe High School took the team title with 437 points, with Fort Collins finishing 2nd with 376 points. Individual event winners were:
Tyler Bush (50 Free & 500 Free), Shane Price (200 IM & 100 Back) & Joe Thelen (100 Free). Joining Bush & Thelen on the winning 200 Freestyle Relay team were Patrick O'Boyle & Zach Turner. Turner led off the 400 Free Relay with a State Qualifying Time of 50.97. Rance Pritchard also qualified for the State meet in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:13.19.

April 22 - LAMBKINS DOWN LOVELAND
The Lambkins defeated Loveland 197-106 in dual meet action. Individual event winners were:
Gabe Seitz (Diving), Matt Anderson (100 Fly), Tyler Bush (500 Free& 100 Breast) & Shane Price (100 Back). FCHS took all three relay events. Bush achieved a State Qualifying Time in the 100 Breast. 

April 18 -FORT COLLINS WINS LEAGUE RELAY MEET
The Lambkins swept all 8 swimming events en route to the team title at the Front Range League relay meet in Northglenn.

April 16 - Fort Collins won all 11 swimming events  defeating Poudre and a combined Horizon/Thornton team in a double dual meet. Individual event winners were: Shane Price (200 IM & 100 Back), Joe Thelen (500 Free & 100 Breast) , Tyler Bush (200 Free), Zach Szlendak (50 Free), Matt Anderson (100 Fly) & Zach Turner (100 Free). In Diving, Andy Vogler finished 4th & Gabe Seitz was 5th.

April 10 - The Lambkins won 7 of 8 individual  in double meet action, defeating Legacy 113-67 & a combined Horizon/Thornton team 149-25. Individual event winners were Shane Price (200 Free, 100 Breast), Joe Thelen (50 Free & 100 Free), Tyler Bush (200 IM), Alex Fenn (100 Fly) & Patrick O'Boyle (500 Free). 

April 7 - FORT COLLINS WINS 24th ANNUAL KEITH WIEDEMAN INVITATIONAL
Senior
Tyler Bush swam to new meet records in the 50 Free & 100 Free & was named Swimmer of the Meet as the Lambkins won the 14 team competition. His time in the 100 Freestyle also broke the oldest FCHS team record, set back in 1982 by Norm Wyatt. Shane Price captured the 100 Back. Relay wins came in the 200 Medley with Price, Joe Thelen, Matt Anderson & Zach Turner & the 400 Freestyle with Anderson, Turner, Thelen & Bush.

April 3 - Fort Collins defeated Monarch 114-50 and Rocky Mtn. 116-48 in dual meet action.
Individual event winners were Seniors
Tyler Bush (50 Free & 100 Fly), Patrick O'Boyle (100Free),  Alex Fenn (100 Breast), Junior Rance Pritchard (200 & 500 Free) & Sophmore Shane Price (100 Back). In diving portion of the competition, Andy Vogler was 3rd & Gabe Seitz 4th.

March 31 - Tyler Bush led the Lambkins to a 11th place finish at the Colorado Coaches Invitational, held at Mountain View High School in Loveland. Bush finished 2nd in both the 100 Free and the 200 Free. The other finalists for Fort Collins was  Shane Price  who finished 9th in the100 Back. The top relay was the team of Price, Joe Thelen, Matt Anderson & Bush who managed a 4th place finish in the 200 Medley Relay.  

March 14 - FORT COLLINS WINS CITY MEET !
The Lambkins opened the 2008 season with a convincing win at the City Meet, winning all 11 swimming events: Individual event winners were:
Tyler Bush (50 Free, 500 Free), Shane Price (100 Back & 200 IM), Joe Thelen (100 Free, 200 Free), Matt Anderson (100 Fly) & Alex Fenn (100 Breast). Results can be found on the Results page. Final team scores were:
                    1. Fort Collins     582                  2. Poudre           420
                    3. Rocky Mtn.     379                  4. Fossil Ridge   346

- There is no AFTERNOON practice on Friday, February 29th because of the Colorado Age Group Championships at EPIC. 

January 14 - PARENTS MEETING
A parents meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, January 31st in the high school cafeteria at 6:30pm.

November 1 - BUSH RECEIVES SCHOLARSHIP
Senior
Tyler Bush signs a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Nevada at Las Vegas in the fall of 2008.

September 17 - LAMBKINS GARNER NATIONAL RECOGNITION
The National InterScholastic Swimming Coaches Association recently published its All American list for 2006-2007. Congratulations to the following swimmers who were named All American:
    
Tyler Bush    -  23rd   -   500 Free  -  4:31.52
                             27th   -   200 Free  -  1:40.06
    
Jacob Evans - 120th   -  200 I.M.   -  1:55.36
