NEW LESSONS FROM PINNACLE INTERNET VIEWER (PIV)….

You received in the mail a letter explaining how to access Pinnacle Internet Viewer. PIV allows parents and students direct access to the latest grades and attendance information for the student. This is an incredible tool for parents and students in seeing first-hand progress, missing assignments, absences, etc. Like any new technology, however, implementation also means discovering unforeseen limitations to the technology. In this case we want parents to know that attendance will be current as soon as each teacher enters each class period attendance, but any changes to that attendance such as classifying the absence as excused, school excused, even tardy, may not appear until the next day.

Also, if you are uncertain about attendance, please use PIV to answer questions you may have about absences rather than asking them of Maria in our attendance office. This year we intentionally “under-staffed” our attendance office in anticipation that PIV would be available to students and parents. Now that it is available please use Pinnacle Internet Viewer to help us limit the routine inquiries about absences made to the attendance office. Calling in to EXCUSE absences, however, still must be made to the attendance office @ 488-8018.
