Take the PSAT in the fall. This is the practice SAT and it may also qualify you for the National Merit Scholarships. As a Junior you will take the state ACT in April.
SOPHOMORE YEAR
Take the PLAN test in the fall of your sophomore year. It is the practice ACT and given at your school. It will give you a good baseline for how you may do on the ACT.
Click the following for information about taking the PLAN test .
All juniors thinking about playing college sports need to send their ACT test scores to the NCAA Clearinghouse. NCAA Clearinghouse does not accept ACT test scores on transcripts. The number you need to bubble to have the test scores sent to NCAA is 9999.

**Register for the ACT or SAT online or by picking up a packet in the
Career Center.
The easiest way to register for the ACT or SAT is online. Use the Fossil Ridge Code when registering. (060-606) You may register after the above registration date for a late fee. Please refer to the test’s website for the late registration timeline and fee.
For test taking tips, please refer to the test website or stop by the Career Center for a study packet.
NOTE:
Some colleges require the ACT as part of your admissions; some require
the SAT or some will take either. Also, select colleges require the ACT
Test plus the Writing section. If the school you are interested in requires
the writing portion of the ACT you will have to register to take this
test on your own. It is not part of the ACT test that is given to the
juniors here at FRHS in the spring. Keep in mind that spaces are limited
for this test and you may have to drive out of your way to take this test.
