Financial Aid: Apply Early. Apply Right.

  • You and your family should save 2007 pay stubs to estimate income on aid forms that you’ll file in early 2008.
  • Submit your FAFSA as soon after January 1 as possible. Men 18 or older must register for the Selective Service to receive federal financial aid.
  • Many priority financial aid deadlines fall in February. To get the most attractive award package, apply by the priority date. Keep copies of everything you send.
  • Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to apply on-line.

!!WARNING

Do not get confused and apply for Federal student aid @ FAFSA.com. Many people have fallen into this trap. Don’t be one of them. Applying for FAFSA ( Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is FREE . If a website asks you for money, then you are at the wrong website! The correct website is www.fafsa.ed.gov.

The Career Center at Fossil Ridge is a great resource for students and parents to gather information for post graduate planning. Everyone is welcome to come into the Career Center. Stop in to browse through our college catalogs and viewbooks, search for colleges and scholarships on-line and ask questions. We encourage seniors to stop in to make an appointment with Mrs. Diane Campbell to discuss options after high school. Do you want to go to college? 4yr? 2yr? Technical? Vocational? Community? Is the Army, Airforce, Navy, or Marines for you? Do you want to work after high school and don’t know what career you would be best suited for, or what’s out there? Or do you just want to know what it’s like to live outside of your parent’s house-what to expect as far as bills, roommates? Please come in to the Career Center to ask how we can help you.
