) Blackboard at Poudre School District, bringing education online.

Blackboard is an e-Education platform--designed to transform the Internet into a powerful environment for the educational experience.

During the 2005-2006 school year, Fossil Ridge High School teachers were involved in Blackboard training classes. These teachers were able to take from these classes very useful information to enable them to create and maintain Blackboard web sites that their students can access for electronic tests, notes and other useful information via the internet. It is however, at the discretion of each teacher to use Blackboard in conjunction with their classroom instruction. We believe that a majority of our teachers here at FRHS are eager to implement Blackboard in their classrooms.

To learn more about how staff members may choose to utilize Blackboard, continue reading below.

If you are a student enrolled at Fossil Ridge High School or a parent of an enrolled student, please click on the icon to the left to access the Blackboard web site.

Note: You will be asked to enter a username and password to access Blackboard information. If you do not know this information, please contact the teacher for the class you would like to access on Blackboard.

Staff members at FRHS could use Blackboard to:

  • Supplement face-to-face classes with online materials, tests, and communication tools.
  • Communicate and share information with sports teams and academic clubs.
  • Communicate and share information with committees and groups.
  • Hold "virtual" meetings and discussions.
  • Have a place for students to create and post e-portfolios.

Teachers were given these top 25 reasons to use Blackboard to supplement their classes!
