Melissa Vasa, Grades 10-12 A-Go Counselor	Melissa Vasa is the East Wing Counselor for sophomores, juniors and seniors with last names beginning with letters A-Go. She has been a counselor at Fossil Ridge since Fall 2005. Melissa received a Master of Education degree in School Counseling in May of 2005 from Colorado State University. She is passionate about school counseling and truly enjoys working with her students throughout their high school careers. Matt Murphy , Grades 10-12 Gr-N Counselor	Matt Murphy is the West Wing Counselor for sophomores, juniors and seniors with last names beginning with Gr-N. This is Matt’s third year at Fossil Ridge. Matt received his BS in Sociology from Illinois State University in 1996 and his Master of Arts in School Counseling from Concordia University-Chicago in 2003. When not helping students to plan their futures, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking, skiing, and working in the yard. Katie Zabransky, Grades 10-12 O-Z Counselor	Katie Zabransky is the East Wing Counselor for sophomores, juniors and seniors with last names beginning with O-Z. She began her counseling career as an Admissions Counselor at Marquette University where she also earned her Master of Arts in Counseling. She counseled in an all-boys high school in Cleveland, Ohio for five years, and at Regis Jesuit High School –Girls Division for four years before coming to Fossil Ridge. She attended the University of Colorado before transferring to the University of Wisconsin and earning her Bachelor of Arts in English. Nick Peterson, Grade 9 A-L Counselor	Nick Peterson is the North Wing Counselor for freshmen with last names beginning with A-L and select ESS students. Some of Nick’s additional duties include co-managing the “Friends of Rachel” program, facilitating student success teams, advisory involvement, crisis team, freshman academy, and peace circle coordination. Prior to joining the Fossil Ridge Counseling team in the fall of 2009, Nick was a High School and Middle School Band Director in Loveland, before moving on to complete his Master of Education in degree in School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. He is passionate about school counseling and thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful school. Beyond counseling, Nick spends his time working as an instructor with the Fossil Ridge Band program and other regional bands, adjudicating Marching Band events around the country, performing with the Fort Collins Wind Symphony, volunteering, cooking, and enjoying the beautiful Colorado outdoors. Rachel Eaton, Grade 9 M-Z Counselor	Rachel Eaton is the North Wing Counselor for freshmen with last names beginning with M-Z. She has been at Fossil Ridge as an Intern in its opening year and as a Counselor since fall 2005. She received her Master of Education in Counseling from Colorado State University and her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Georgia. Diane Campbell, College & Career Counselor	Diane is currently the College and Career Counselor here at Fossil Ridge. She came from Blevins Junior High school where she was a counselor for two years and before that worked at Colorado State University in the Career Center as a counselor where she also received her Masters degree. She is currently the Career Representative for the Colorado School Counselors Association. She is also a member of the American School Counselors Association and the National Association for College Admissions Counseling. She is very passionate about future planning and helping students find their path to colleges and careers.
