In order to enroll at FRHS, you will need to provide the following:

School Choice Information
If you do not live in the Fossil Ridge High School attendance area, but would like to attend, you may apply for ‘School Choice’. Applications are due to our office by the 2nd Friday in February prior to the year you would like to attend. If accepted, you will be notified and we will set up a registration appointment.

If you miss the February deadline
School Choice Applications may be submitted until the first day of class at the beginning of the school year of requested enrollment.
Once a school year begins, open enrollment (school choice) for that school year is over. Applications to a school other than your neighborhood school is considered a transfer and must be approved by an assistant superintendent. For school transfer, please call (970) 490-3302.
More about School Choice...
More than 70% of PSD families choose to send their children to Neighborhood Schools, the school located in the attendance area in which they live. Through School Choice, parents may register their child to attend a school outside their neighborhood attendance area. PSD’s School Choice program allows families to select the school that best meets their child’s educational needs. School Choice students are accepted on a space-available basis and transportation is the responsibility of the parent.
Families may submit a School Choice application beginning in October 2007until February 8, 2008 for the 2008-2009 school year. The order in which applications for School Choice are received prior to the deadline does not affect your chance of being accepted at your requested school. For each grade level where the number of choice/open enrollment applicants exceeds the number of spaces available, the determination of space availability for each applicant shall be made based on priority (please refer to pg 2 or the back of your choice application). School Choice applications submitted after the deadline will be placed on a wait list, pending availability.
School Choice Procedures for 8th-Grade Student Athletes
Eighth-grade student athletes who plan to participate in high school athletics at a high school outside of their attendance area must submit a School Choice application to that high school by the second Friday in February (February 8, 2008) of their eighth-grade year. Once athletes begin practice at the high school as ninth graders, they must remain at that high school in order to maintain full varsity eligibility. If sometime during their high school career student athletes choose to return to their neighborhood high school, they will not be eligible to participate in 50% of varsity competition for the first year they return to their neighborhood school.
