August is time for school to start and time to begin fall softball.  We are so excited for practice to begin and the season to get on its way.  Below you will find a list of informational material. 

• All students playing a sport will need a physical.  A yellow physical card will need to be filled out by you and your doctor.  Return the physical card to the school or directly to the coaches.  We must have this card on file before your student will be allowed to practice.  (If you can not get in to see your regular physician there are clinics that offer school sport physicals). Players must also have proof of school or personal insurance to begin practice.
• There is a $60.00 PSD participation fee.
• Everyone needs to have their own glove; bats and softball cleats are recommended if you own them but not required.
• All practices will begin at 3:00 pm and end at 4:45 pm (time for equipment and returning to lockers will be within this time slot.)  Players need to be picked up promptly by 4:50. 
• The first week will consist of skill building and try-outs for the varsity team.  Softball is a non-cut sport so we will have as many teams as we can field.
• Please notify coaches of any medical needs that are specific to your player (asthma, hearing, etc.)

Come out and be part of Kinard softball!  We are often asked if this is too much for 7th graders to take on at the beginning of such a transitional year for them.  We have found this to be a great way for 7th graders to get connected, meet new people, learn time management, and have a great time.  We look forward to a great season!
