Pam Downing - English

Pam Downing absolutely loves teaching middle school school students, and loves English so immensely that she feels blessed each day as she walks into Kinard JHS and gets the chance to work with these great kids.

Her goal in teaching is to build a great set of skills that will carry students on to the next level, and to build confidence to learn more deeply and take academic risks.

She is the mother of two children, a son in 8th grade and a daughter in 11th. Her husband teaches Social Studies at Lesher JHS, so they are a family of learners! In her spare time, she loves to read (of course), hike, bike, and spend time with her highly entertaining family.

To me, Kinard is a safe place in which we feel that we’re working toward learning academically as well as learning to be a good person…and we’re all in it together!”
