Parents
are essential members of the Lab School community. They contribute in countless
ways to the schools vitality. A leader in the district in parent involvement
and volunteer hours, the Lab School tracked an average of 300 hours per
month in the most recent school year.
Volunteer InformationParents need to register with Poudre School District before they can volunteer at the school. Sarah Van Etten is the 2007-2008 Lab School Volunteer Coordinator. Site Based Management Team (SBMT)This team governs the Lab School with monthly meetings. Faculty members on the 2007-2008 SBMT include: Stephen Bergen, Mikole Liese, Sonya Dixon. Parent members this year include: Jim Ott, Donna Goldstrom, and Lisa Stiles. Yahoo Discussion GroupWe have a private email discussion group for the Lab community. If you would like to join, please send an email with your name and how you are affiliated with the Lab School to this address: lscl-owner@yahoogroups.com. An invitation will be emailed to you; simply follow the instructions in that email. Lab School Support TeamsParents lead the following support teams with a faculty liaisons. ArtArt is integrated across the curriculum at the Lab School. Through an arrangements with Colorado State University, teacher interns are placed in the school each semester to plan and lead activities. This team displays student works of art in and around our building. Also responsible for the Lab Schools participation in the district art fair and other opportunities to show students art as offered by the district and community. Helps Friends of the Lab with student generated art fundraisers. Friends of the Lab (FOL)Numerous fundraisers are held throughout the year to supplement district funding, allowing the school to take field trips, plan activities, and bring in enrichment. This team plans and carries out fundraisers and school community activities. Also helps allocate funds to support teachers. Library
