Miss Rachel Stringer, Music Teacher K-5

The Laurel Lynx Choir is made up of students in grades 4 and 5. We meet once a week for one hour before school.  We perform multiple times a year for large audiences of our friends, family and community members. Each year we design a new t-shirt to show our pride and we wear them proudly during performances and sometimes on School Spirit day! This year our shirts are blue, which is one of our school colors, they look great! No child is turned away from choir; all who wish to be a part of this awesome group are welcomed. Miss Stringer, our director, does ask that each choir member attend all rehearsals and performances, after all a great choir is made up of those who are dedicated and willing to work as a team to achieve success. Each choir member must pay $10 for the year to pay for his/her t-shirt. It’s worth it! So come on, join us and you too can be a singing Laurel Lynx!

CHOIR is going to Barnes & Noble!!!!

Saturday, November 14th

·     We are going to Barnes & Noble Bookstore!  Laurel’s PTO is having a fundraiser at the Barnes & Noble on South College next to Old Navy. We, The Laurel Lynx Choir, have been asked to perform at this fundraiser.

·     Choir will be performing at 2:30pm for approximately 25 minutes. We will be singing Holiday songs inside the bookstore for shoppers, parents, teachers and friends.

·     Students should be dressed in black bottoms (i.e. pants or skirts) their new Laurel Lynx Choir t-shirt, they should be arriving within the next two weeks! I understand that temperatures outside will dictate what is appropriate as we near the event, however I would ask that each child look nice and appropriate for a public performance.

·     Students need to arrive no later that 2:15pm and meet me at the main entrance. Again, our performance will last no longer than 25 minutes.

Recorder Club is a new ensemble to Laurel School of Arts and Technology this year. The club is made up of students in grade 3.

Each student who joins the club will be asked to purchase the Student Starter Pack that includes: recorder (7 color choices!!!), carrying case, neon neck strap, plastic cleaner, introductory method book, and practice CD. All these cool things for only $10!!! Recorder Club meets once a week during the school day and performed for the very first time at this year’s All Subjects Fair in April.
