Percussion
There are no drummers in Lincoln Junior High School. All percussionists learn and become proficient on all the members of the percussion family of instruments.
*Students choosing percussion must have 2 years of piano proficiency prior to 7th grade.

The snare drum is a double-headed drum with snares strung along the underside of the lower head. 
The big bass drum provides the foundation of the beat for the musical ensemble. 
Lincoln has a set of 4 timpani, which are tunable drums. Unique in the percussion section, they provide some very dramatic low tones for the ensemble sound. 
includes xylophones, marimba, tubular bells...anything that requires mallets to make the sound. These parts are very melodic. 
Includes cymbals, afuche cabasa, triangle, tambourine, crass cymbals, wood block, grinder, slap boards and many more.
