In the Poudre High School Catering Program
the students study food in todays society while learning to plan and prepare gourmet specialty foods. These experiences include study and research of various cultures around the world and preperations offood from these cultures. Throughout the curriculum the students will practice food safty and sanitationskills. They plan menus based on standardized recipies to meet the consumers needs. The course contentincludes preperation for all menu catagories to produce a variety of food products. The students learnentrepeneurship and a knowledge of identifying the market factors affecting cost. Throughoutthe year the students will participate in catering jobs requested by a certainevent or occasion. |
