What are the goals of the Academy?

The faculty and staff of the Sophomore Academy will provide extensive support and encouragement to our students so that they will accomplish the following:

1. Increase their basic skills at least two academic years by the end of the school year.
2. Improve and maintain academic success in all classes.
3. Improve communications in speaking and writing.
4. Prepare for the Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP) administered in March.
5. Become involved in school-wide activities as well as Academy activities.
6. Attend all classes at PHS.
7. Work and learn successfully in groups.
8. Increase their social, emotional, and communication skills through the Discovery program.
9. Achieve a high degree of self-awareness.
10. Assume personal responsibility for their actions which include completing academic requirements and adhering to school and classroom policies.
