Admissions Standards Policy by the
Colorado Commission on
Higher Education
Revisions include changes in the pre-collegiate
curriculum requirements, which apply to students who will graduate from high
school in the spring of 2008 and later and apply for admission to
Colorado’s four-year public institutions (beginning with those entering the
10th grade in 2005).
Below is a chart showing the current curriculum requirements and the
requirements effective in 2008 and 2010.

Note 1: Academic electives include additional
courses from core area as well as foreign languages (2 units must be from the
same language), computer science, art, music, journalism, drama, honors, advanced
placement, and international baccalaureate courses.
Note 2: An academic unit, often referred to as a Carnegie unit, is equivalent to one full year of credit in a specific subject.
