Julie Hajost

Julie has been a counselor for 13 years. She started her career in education as an admission counselor at Butler University in Indianapolis. While earning a Master's in Science at Butler University, she began her career as a secondary counselor in a junior high school. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor and certified by the state of Colorado. Moving to Fort Collins in 2003, Julie worked at Lincoln Junior High School for three years before joining the counseling team at Poudre High School. Julie works with students whose last names begin with J-Mc and the Sophomore Academy.

In addition to enjoying her work with high school students and their families, Julie is active and enjoys many outdoor activities including marathoning, hiking, camping, skiing, scuba, and mountain biking. She is a Spanish language learner who continues to build her skills with immersion activities and her passion for travel. Julie is an avid photographer who developed this passion when she was in high school in the Chicago area. Her own children, Glen '06 and Rick '08 PHS IB graduates are her inspiration. They have taught her tremendously, helping her to grow as an individual and as a professional.
