Concert Band
Who We Are
The Poudre Concert Band is comprised of 9-10 grade students and a few 11-12 graders learning new instruments. We give 5 Poudre concerts each year, and perform at the CHSAA Large Group Festival in April. We perform a wide variety of music, building students skills in tone, technique, rhythm, pitch, balance and style. This year, look forward to many exciting works. Any student with prior band experience is welcome to participate in the Concert Band.! Private lessons are a great way to get your music ready for the concert, chair test, audition, maybe someday for a SCHOLARSHIP! For our private lesson list, click here.
What We Do
The Concert Band has recieved Excellent or Superior ratings at the CHSAA Large Group Festival every year since 1996. We place several freshmen students in the PSD Jr. High Honor Band each year, often as first chair players. Most students go on to play in the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble, many of them earning CSU Honor Band and All-State Band honors. Every year the 'Patrick Gilmore' award is given to the outstanding Concert Band member, as voted on by the Concert Band members and the directors.
When We Perform 2008-09
The Concert Band concerts, like all Poudre concerts, are at 7:00 p.m. in the Poudre Auditiorium (unless otherwise noted). The Concert Band members will also perform at the events noted on the Pep Band page
