Who I Am

It's hard to believe, but I've been the director of bands here at Poudre since the fall of 1996. I love it here, and can't imagine being anywhere else. I have a Bachelor's Degree from CSU with a double emphasis in Music Education and Trumpet Performance. I also have a Masters in Trumpet Performance from UNC. I play second trumpet in the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra, and do as much Jazz playing as I possibly can!

What I Do

I am currently the director of the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz I, Jazz II, Jazz Combo and I teach IB Music HL/SL. I also team teach the Pep Band with Mr. Leonard. I live in Johnstown with my wife Emily. She's the Director of Marketing and Development for the Larimer Center for Mental Health. On April 26 we had our first kid, Ella Jane Petersen. She's brilliant, beautiful, charming and creative(from her mom) and she eats and sleeps a lot (from me).
