Who We Are
The Poudre Symphonic Band is our only concert group made up of 9-12 graders! Junior and Senior bandmembers can automatically register and Freshman & Sophomore members can audition to be in the group. We play lots of styles, and work on developing tone, pitch and many other ensemble concepts. We have a very exciting repertoire lined up for the 2007-08 concert season! Private lessons are a great way to get your music ready for the concert, chair test, audition, maybe someday for a SCHOLARSHIP! For our private lesson list, click here.
What We Do
The Symphonic Band gives 5 concerts during the school year. We also perform at the CHSAA Large Group Festival in April, and are often invited to perform at the Northern Colorado Concert Band Festival in November. This group has fared very well at the festivals we attend, typically recieving Excellent and Superior ratings. Many 10-12 grade members audition for the CSU Honor Band, and most of the Freshmen audition for the PSD Jr. High Honor Band as well.
When We Perform 2008-09
The Symphonic Band concerts, like all Poudre concerts, are at 7:00 p.m. in the Poudre Auditiorium (unless otherwise noted). The Symphonic Band members will also perform at the events noted on the Pep Band page
