Statement of Purpose:

The Professional and Comunity Experience Program will provide an opportunity for every high school student to gain first-hand experience in his/her career choice through a wide variety of partnerships with businesses and agencies in the Fort Collins area.

General Information:

Choices for students include volunteer, shadows, intern, pre-apprenticeship, and paid work experiences in, or closely related to, the students occupational interest areas. At the same time, businesses and local organizations are provided needed assistance from our students.

All PaCE students must have taken the Critical Skills class with at least a C grade to recieve credit through PaCE. This class, which was developed by business people and educators, offers self-assessment, career guidance, job skills, and work ethics as part of its curriculum. Students are also required to take a class related to their career goal each semester while in PaCE. Many students have taken required skill or subject matter classes prior to coming into PaCE.

We have had successful partnerships with businesses for some time and hope to continue to broaden opportunities for students through the PaCE program.
