Mr. Cropp has had the honor of being Director of Bands at Rocky Mountain High School since 1987. A graduate of Colorado State University in 1980, he received his master’s degree in Multiple Intelligences and the Creative Arts in Education in 2001. In the spring of 2004 he received a Fulbright Memorial Fund Scholarship to study Music and Education in Japan. During his time at RMHS, the band program has blossomed from an enrollment of 95 students in one band ensemble to approximately two hundred band members in three separate concert band ensembles as well as several chamber ensembles and jazz groups. The bands have enjoyed performing at CMEA; festivals in Denver, Colorado Springs, Longmont Loveland, Greeley; in Washington, D.C. for the Memorial Day Weekend commemorating the World War II Memorial Dedication; and in Paris, France and London, England for New Years celebrations on 1994, 1997 and 2000. Most recently, the Rocky Mountain High School bands were selected to participate in a series of concerts leading up to the Summer Olympics in Beijing China. Mr. Cropp is married to a wonderful and supportive wife, Karna, who is an elementary teacher and also a Rocky Mountain graduate, and they have three sons who also graduated from Rocky Mountain: Brandon, Kellen and Ryan.
