Congratulations to Mickey Ellenwood and Cody Lloyd who finished 1st and 4th respectively in the city-wide Lion’s Club Oratory contest last Thursday. Each received a check, and Mickey will now represent Fort Collins at the regional competition in March.

Congratulations to the following students on their outstanding efforts at last Saturday’s Regional Science Bowl competition, which took place at CSU.  24 teams participated from Northern Colo, Western Colo. Wyoming and Nebraska.
Team 1 finished 3rd… the best finish of any RMHS team ever!

The following members of the RMHS orchestra have been selected to participate in theColorado All-State Orchestra held at CU in Boulder.This is quite an honor for these students who were among over 400 students in the state to audition for a place in the orchestra.Rebecca Averrill-Viola, Sarah Barnaby- Bass, Caleb Bradley-Oboe, Rachelle DiGregorio-Viola Nathan  Hatch-Viola, Ellen Loran-Cello, Liz Montgomery-Percussion, Cassandra Mueller-Viola Natalie Newton-Violin, Zack Teska-Violin, Sterling Wilson-Clarinet. 1/31/2008

Congratulations to the members of the Forensics team who competed at Cheyenne East High School last weekend along with students from 36 schools from three states. Semifinalists for the Lobos include Sam Wellington in Original Oratory, Mickey Ellenwood in Extemporaneous Speaking, Emily Hatch in Novice Lincoln Douglas Debate, and Cody Lloyd and Mickey Ellenwood in Cross Examination Debate. In addition, Bri Champ won Novice Lincoln Douglas Debate and Jamie Lapp won Varsity Lincoln Douglas Debate. The team will have a break before their next tournament at Arizona State University.

CONGRATULATIONS! Dave Swartz received the etown e-chievement award this  last  Sunday night during  a  live show at the Lincoln Center. He  was  honored for all of his accomplishments with the Environmental Club. 12/17/2007

Congratulations to Rocky’s Model United Nations delegates that competed last weekend at the Regional High School MUN in Salt Lake City. Mickey Ellenwood, Jeff Topolski, Cody Lloyd, and Ben Harrison won the prestigious Best Delegation award for Security Council/Counter-Terrorism Committee, while Emily Morris, Sam Wellington, Jill Petrie, Stephen Sorenson, Casi Smigelsky, and Jamie Lapp won the Outstanding School Representation award for the conference as whole. Congratulations to Colleen Christie, Tom Smailes, and the Looking Glass crew for receiving 1st place with Special Merit Award from the American Scholastic Press Association for their 2007 edition of the Looking Glass.  This is truly an honor and quite a prestigious award.
