PTO MEETING
October 3, 2006
Paula Metcalf called the meeting to order @ 7:00pm and was approved by
Kristen Draper, Dawn Dorsh second the motion.
Approval of minutes-Approval of
minutes was made for September 5th PTO meeting
Treasures Report-Tavelli’s PTO
Income and Expenditures was handed out. Following was discussed….
1. Emergency Food service- $40 was short to date. $50 was given to Jane,
for the year. They are going to check to see if it was due to people getting
free lunch. The decision to not give any more money for the year. PTO would
rather give the money at the end of the year.
2. Cornstalk- Money was given. Receipt will be given along with the
difference of the money.
3. Read- A-thon- Dawn Dorsh stated it won’t be close to $2,000.
4. Original Works- taken out of budget. It’s done every other year.
5. $200 Character Ed $ is being taken out for little shop physics.
Guest:
1. Librarian- AR point’s incentive- Award tags w/ points for children to
collect was discussed. May possibly come out of PTO budget. $34 for a bag of
100, $121 for 75 tags.
Options:
Maybe trying out with 1st graders first.
Run it by Melanie who is big on incentives.
Possibly money coming from Media AR Quizzes
Other discussions:
1. Letterhead will be written to change name on account.
2. Would like $ to be shared with wellness in carnival
3. Wellness- Whatever $ that is raised by wellness will stay in wellness
budget.
4. Walk a-thon- no info yet
5. Hospitality- still looking for volunteers. Put in Thurs. notes.
6. Sally Foster- Will run last 2wks. in Oct.
7. Banking Days- Still looking for Volunteers
8. Tiger tales- Deadline is Nov. 1st
9. Odyssey of the mind- need volunteers for setup and take down.
10. Directory will be sent out in 10 days.
11. Fort Fun- needs to sell 100 to break even. Chippers Lane donated for
door prizes. Also Chippers Lane would like to do fundraisers with us.
12. Read a-thon- Was asked not to do fundraisers during.
13. Walk a-thon- Questions asked
a. Time and Date
b. Will it be open to other schools?
c. Where will it be held?
We would like to see if we can trade wellness for fall/spring
Options for fundraisers:
1. Tupper Wear- School keeps 40%. Lynn will get more details.
