Tavelli PTO Meeting
April 7, 2006
PTO Meeting was called to order by Kris Clagett at 8:00 p.m. Sign in sheet was passed around.
Approval of Minutes: March minutes will wait until May PTO Meeting.
Treasurer’s Report: Was give my Dawn Dorsch, Sent a reminder letter to the different group to remind them of the money that is available. We need to have spring fundraiser to make around $1000.00.
Special
Guest: Pack
197 Scott Addington and Bruce Axelrod
presented the PTO Board with a plaque of Appreciation, and appreciate for the
support that the PTO Board and School give them. The troop, in La Porte has dissolved, and has joined the Tavelli
Troops.
Mr.Deakin
is the Media Tech. Working on Keyboarding with the different grades, 4th
grade needs to do 13 wpm, 5th grade needs to do 20 wpm, and 6th
grade needs to do 25 wpm. There is competition between the students. There is a
Wall of Fame for the students to achieve there goal and beyond. There is a
traveling trophy for the teachers. The students get a trophy that is a Keyboard
that is painted in gold.
The
library is becoming updated on Microsoft. The library has laminated book
markers. The district has a license for the world book of research that is
available online. The students have been doing research on Colorado animals.
The 5 and 6th grades have been working on a video project.
There
will be a folder on the network for video that are not done so they can work on
them next year.
Committee
Report:
Read
A Thon:
Lynn stated that the student had a fun day. Everybody seamed to enjoy
themselves. We have an author that is free next year. Try to come up with
Idea’s that will promote the read a thon better. Finding easy away to
communicate, with the teacher that will work for all
parties.
Book
Fair:
buy one and get one free that is held April 18th thru April 20th.
That will be in the Media Center.
Odyssey
of the Mind:
Jane said there were 3 teams this year. The team of 6th grader that
has been together since the 3rd grade came in 2nd place in the
division this year. We are looking for a chairperson for next year. There is a
monthly meeting with the coaches. There are a total of 19 kids. The cost is
$5.00 per person. Meet at 4 p.m.
Spring
fundraiser:
Will be a Family night at fort for fun. It is the no hassle plan. Will be on
May 3rd from 5:30 to 8:00 Cost will be $4.00 per person. It will be
for the bumper cars or Miniature Golf. There will be greets at the door. We
need to let them know we are from Tavelli. They keep the first $200.00 anything
after that is Tavelli PTO’s.
We
will have Vest that we will have the logo of Tavelli’s and Tiger. Immy will we
be coordinating the vest that will be for sale.
We
will have a list of the openings for the committee and PTO Board at the
wellness fair and posting will be on the website. We will send the volunteer
list home in May this year instead of August.
Bev
Bachman is standing in for Dr.Lawler - This was the last week for CSAP testing.
Wellness Fair is right on track everything sounds like it is coming together.
This is a pilot program that everybody will be looking at and getting ideas for
other schools in the district.
The
track has not been finalized yet, they are looking at the sprinkler systems.
