Tavelli PTO Meeting Minutes
September 5, 2006
Paula Metcalf called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Brief introductions were made of parents and PTO
Board-members. The Board gave a brief
introduction of themselves and their duties.
The Board recognized Kris Clagett, Stephanie Barber-Haile,
and Dawn Dorsch for their past participation on the Board.
Paula announced the Board is still in need of a Secretary
and asked that anyone interested in learning more about the position contact
her.
Approval of Minutes:
A motion was made by Kristen Draper that the meeting
minutes from May 2, 2006 be approved.
Stephanie Barber-Haile seconded the motion.
Dr. Lawler Update:
Dr.
Lawler reported that Tavelli is off to a great start this school year. Tavelli continues to focus on wellness and
plans to expand the sit team to include two or three parents.
Treasurer’s Report:
Financial
Summary Estimate and Proposed Income and Expenditures Reports for 2006-2007
school year were handed out. The
following items were discussed:
Weather Bug. The Board approved
a $1,000 lifetime membership to Weather Bug for Tavelli. It used funds from the Albertson’s funds to
purchase the membership.
Read-a-Thon. There was a
discussion as to whether or not to continue the Read-a-Thon as a fundraiser or
a school event. Any with ideas or input
should contact Kristen Draper.
Media AR Quizzes. This is currently
a Priority 2 Activity with a budget amount of $500. Mrs. Payton has stated that she only needs $350 to purchase new
AR quizzes. There was a discussion of
whether or not to leave it as a Priority 2 activity, move it to a Priority 1
activity, or combine it with the Media, Tech line item in the Priority 1
activities. After discussion, it was
decided that the Media AR quizzes should remain as a Priority 2 activity.
Pancake Supper. The Character
Education committee would like to spend less on the banner that they purchase
each year for the Pancake Supper event.
After discussion, it was decided that last year’s banner would be used
and updated to include the signatures of the students new to Tavelli this
year.
