Visual Arts Education at Traut is a Discipline Based Program. This means that the curriculum is academic: rich in artistic, cultural, geographic, and historical references. Our programs encompass Poudre School District guidelines for art theory, technique, elements & principles of Art, as well as critical literacy skills: reading, writing, and discussing art. Your student(s) will experiment with an array of media & tools at a basic level in addition to learning about famous artists. You will find it informative to peruse the Core Knowledge Art Sequence for each grade level. Most of our time will be spent doing art projects.
