Teacher Advisory Board Information

The TAB consists of the principal and 6 members elected from the staff, who serve a 2-year term that starts at the first TAB meeting after the school year ends.  TAB members must be liaisons to permanent committees (see below), and may hold offices.  TAB officers are elected in May, and serve a 1-year term.  The offices are:

o        Assigns the role of facilitator for TAB meetings, rotating responsibility among TAB members.  

o        The TAB president shares facilitator responsibility at SBMC meetings.

o        Calls all regular TAB meetings

o        Coordinates and publishes the agenda for TAB meetings.  Coordinates the agenda for SBMC meetings with the PAB President and the principal.

o         Serves as the president when the president is absent.

o        Coordinates committee activity

o        Attends PAB meetings along with the principal should a special meeting be called regarding a specific personnel issue.

o        Works with principal and PAB Treasurer to propose a budget for each school year, and attend regularly scheduled meetings of the principal and PAB Treasurer.

o        Places the proposed budget on the SBMC agenda along with PAB Treasurer for action.

o        Tracks expenditures and assures follow up reporting on funds spent to TAB.

o        Records and publishes all TAB meetings and actions.  

o        Shares responsibility for recording and publishing SBMC meetings with the PAB secretary.

o        Records and publishes all votes of the TAB in the minutes.

In addition, staff serves along with parents on committees.  The committees are:
