STUDENT ACCESS
o Before and After School
The Media Center opens for student use at 7:30 a.m. and remains open until 3:20 p.m. on most afternoons. The LMC occasionally closes for meetings at 2:45. A sign will be posted on these days. Students do not need a pass for before or after school.
o During Class
Students must show a pass from their classroom teacher to Media staff as soon as they enter the center. They also sign in on the form at the service counter and sign out when they leave. Students are asked to return to class five minutes before the end-of-class bell rings.
o Lunch Pass
Students may pick up a lunch pass in the Media Center before they go to lunch. Hot lunch must be eaten in the cafeteria before coming to the LMC to work.
Students place passes on the service counter upon arrival at the Media Center and sign in on the clipboard.
Students stay the remainder of the lunch period and proceed to class when their lunch period is over. Loss of a pass will result in a $5.00 fine.
CIRCULATION
o Students may check out 2 books for 2 weeks and 2 magazines for 2 days. Students may renew a book unless other students have placed a reserve on the item.
o
Overdue notes are generated every three weeks and are placed in the third period teacher's mailbox for distribution to the students. Students should return or renew the
materials by the next school day.
Fines for late items are 10¢ per day for each item.
Students have the option of "reading off" or working off their fines instead of paying the fine with money. Please see Mrs. Schachet or Mrs. Hyatt to make arrangements if this is your choice of payment.
