STUDENT ACCESS

o Before and After School
The media center opens for student use at 7:30 a.m. and remains open until 3:30 p.m. Students do not need a pass for before or after school.

o During Class
Students must show a pass from their classroom teacher to media staff as soon as they enter the center. They also sign in on the form at the service counter and sign out when they leave. Students are asked to return to class five minutes before the end-of-class bell rings.

o Lunch Pass
Students may pick up an Express Pass in Webber's main office after finishing lunch.
Students place passes on the service counter upon arrival at the Media Center and sign in on the clipboard.
Students stay as long as needed during the lunch period, return passes to the office, and return to the commons or proceed to class. Loss of a pass will result in a $5.00 fine.

CIRCULATION
o All materials are checked out at the circulation station. Each student and
staff member is assigned a bar code number.
o Students may check out 2 books for 2 weeks and 2 magazines for 2 days. Students may renew a book unless other students have placed a reserve
on the item.
o Staff may check out an unlimited number of items for a semester.

o Overdue Items
Overdue notes are generated every three weeks through the computerized circulation program and are placed in the third period homeroom teacher's mailbox for distribution to the students. Students should return or renew the
materials by the next school day.
Fines for late items are 10¢ per day for each overdue print item and $1.00
per day for AlphaSmart units.
Teachers will be given a list of items checked out under their name at
the end of each quarter.
o Payment for Lost Items
District policy for payment for lost books and magazines is to charge the cost of the item plus a $3.00 processing fee. Payment for a lost AlphaSmart unit
is the cost of the item plus a $3.00 processing fee.

o Damaged Items
If books are damaged by water, marking, or pets a damage fee will
be charged.
Payment for damaged AlphaSmart units varies with the extent and
type of damage. Replacement of the LCD panel is $60.00.
