5250 Speech: Basic Speech is designed as a fundamental course to improve public speaking. Focus is on proficiencies which address the organization, preparation, and delivery of solo speaking opportunities including informative, special occasion, demonstration, and persuasive speeches. Work also includes effective listening, debate and group discussions. This is a one-semester course. Students have the opportunity to achieve proficiency in the district standards for requirement #2.
