8110 Teacher
Aide - All Positions: This is a one-semester class where students
will assist teachers and staff members with a variety of tasks.
Applications (available in the Counseling Office) need to be completed
prior to an interview with the teacher/staff member requested. Applications
need to be turned in with the course selection sheet. Teacher/staff
may elect to offer a S/U grade (satisfactory or unsatisfactory)
for no credit or five credits for a letter grade - A, B, C, D, or
F. (This information will be on each Teacher Assistant application.)
8140 Peer
Helpers: This semester class reviews some of the key helping
skills and provides opportunities for students to implement these
skills as peer trainers in school, in the community and at home.
Team work, action planning, facilitation skills, peer mediation,
conflict resolution and field experiences are the focus of this
class. There will also be opportunities for Peer Helpers to participate
in cross-age tutoring program.
