from the Principal
Welcome to the
Webber Junior High School home page! We hope you will find current
information, policies and a flavor of life at "The Web"
as we affectionately refer to our school. As Webber enters its second
decade, it has emerged as a structured and caring environment with
an emphasis on excellence in all curricular areas. With an enrollment
nearing 900, we attract students from across the district who are
looking for variety and quality of opportunities. The staff are
a well-trained, professional group who are passionate about both
their curricular area and about junior high aged students and their
needs.
We believe junior
high to be a critical transition time in life, a three year adventure
of change. While our main agenda is education, we also focus on
developmental needs, setting appropriate limits with positive and
negative consequences, and helping students learn from mistakes.
The images and information you will find on these pages are just
part of the Webber experience.
We take pride
in our students achievements and their numerous contributions to
the community. We believe our music program to be one of the finest
in the nation. Our unique WAVE program is one of less than a dozen
in the country. Our full complement of electives offers the beginning
of an excellent secondary liberal arts education in PSD. The scholastic
achievements of our students can be seen not only in test scores
and GPAs but also in the accomplishments of our alumni at Rocky
Mountain High School and in endeavors at colleges and universities
around the nation.
The unique qualities
of Webber are a direct extension of our supportive parent/guardian
community, and our wide variety of classes and activities which
we believe address the needs of the whole person. Athletics, the
arts, and activities are all important aspects of Webber Junior
High School. Participation is the name of the game as students use
our comprehensive curriculum and activities to find a form of self-expressional
that fits them during their years of growth at Webber.
